The team at Coconutsy has been working hard to stay abreast of the very fluid Coronavirus situation. We are monitoring all communications from the World Health Organisation, Australia Department of Health and Queensland Government.
There is no question this will impact us and our customers going forward and we are meeting weekly to discuss the implementation and management of our protocols and procedures to ensure we are doing everything within our power to stop the spread of this virus.
According to the World Health Organisation the virus has been detected up to 5-7 days on surfaces after an infected person has touched them.
We can not guarantee the virus will not be imported on our goods coming from south-east asia and therefore have taken the difficult step to put people before profits. The ability of the virus to linger for so long only underlines the importance of hand hygiene and cleaning of surfaces.
Because of this we have decided to stop the import of all our products including coconut bowls, candles and bamboo straws from south-east asia to protect our customers during this time.
There is no question this will impact us going forward and we are meeting daily to discuss the implementation of our protocols and procedures to ensure we are doing everything within our power to protect our customers and mitigate this situation.
