Burning a coconut candle in your home brings an instant ambiance of warmth, relaxation and cosiness. I love lighting candles, especially now when it’s winter and it is getting dark pretty early.
Candles have this wonderful way of calming me down, of sending there soft light through our space and making it look so cozy. Every time I light the candles, even when I’m alone I feel like I’m taking care of my space and myself.
What are the benefits of burning candles?
Staring into a flame can be a great way to mediate and calm down your thoughts. You can focus nicely on the movement and soft crackling wick and use your breath to still your mind.
Sometimes I meditate with them. I take a couple of deep breaths. Stare in into the flame and start counting to 10 with my breaths. 1 on my first inhale, 2 on my first exhale and so on. When I reach 10 I start again at 1. The candle helps me keep my focus and not get distracted too much.
For most people, candles help to create a peaceful and calming environment and the fragrances can enhance the mood.
Whether you’re aiming for a romantic dinner in or a spiritual awakening you can bring the right blend to your home to create the ideal environment for an ideal head space. Take the time to pause and take a whiff of those pleasant candle fumes. They truly make a difference in your mindset.
What is the healthiest candle wax?
There is a vast selection of different types of candle wax available on the market, including paraffin wax, beeswax, coconut wax, rapeseed wax, and of course, soy wax.
The healthiest candles have a low negative impact on your home’s environment and are 100 percent soy, vegetable, or beeswax-based.
What you are looking for is a candle that reduces the number of toxins and pollutants that it releases into the environment. The three things to look at are the wax, the wick, and the scent. Here is what you need to consider:
- Wax: Always look for soy or beeswax candles.
- Wick: The wick should be made from cotton or wood.
- Scent: The candle should only contain natural ingredients and essential oils.
Why choose a soy wax coconut candle?
We often get asked why soy candles are better than other candles, and the truth is there are many reasons.
Soy wax is a vegetable wax derived from soybean oil. And as such, soy wax is bioderadable and soy wax is also water soluble. Whilst being super great news for the environment, they're also really good news for your house when you spill the hot wax - because it's much easier to clean up.
Being derived from a natural source there isn’t a need to overcompensate with strong aromas in an effort to cover up chemical ones. A soy candle blends with essential oils a lot more effectively than paraffin wax, and less of them are needed to produce the same scent.
Benefits of burning coconut soy candles:
- Soy wax is a natural, renewable resource.
- Soy wax is biodegradable and cleans up with plain old soap and water.
- Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax and because of this, soy candles will burn slower or longer than paraffin candles.
- Soy wax burns with zero soot and mess.

Why should you burn your candles for 3 hours?
If you want your candle to burn evenly and last as long as possible, you have to light it for about 3 to 4 hours the first time you burn it.
Make sure to light your candle for a long time during the first burn, so that the wax can go to the edge of the candle and ensure a smooth burning during the rest of the candle's life. This is the same for every single candle.
Soy wax has a low melting point and can begin to soften or melt at temperatures above 25ºC, therefore this type of candle should be stored at room temperature at all times. If your candle does begin to melt, we recommend you place the candle in a cooler area of your property.
