Healthy Cocoa Smoothie
This recipe is ideal for a post-workout drink, or afternoon pick-me-up. It’s rich and luscious and loaded with nutritional benefits.
Chocolate and banana are known for high levels of protein, vitamins and antioxidants, plus the pairing with calcium rich milk provides adds a healthy dose of nutrients.
- 1 cup milk
- ½ chopped frozen banana
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Place all of the ingredients for this chocolate milk smoothie in a blender and blitz until smooth.
- Pour the smoothie mixture into a coconut bowl or bamboo cup. Arrange the sliced banana and remaining toppings.
Very ripe bananas with brown spots on the skin give the most flavour to smoothies. Once ripe, peel the bananas and place in a resealable freezer bag, then freeze until solid and keep on hand to make this recipe.
