Banana & Hazelnut Smoothie

Banana & Hazelnut Smoothie

Banana & Hazelnut Smoothie

For this smoothie I decided to go with one of my favourite nuts: hazelnuts 🌰.

When included in a regular diet, hazelnuts help keep your heart and blood vessels healthy and strong.

Trust me! When you make it once, you will want to make it again and again. Moreover, it is nutritious and naturally sweetened.

This is an ideal smoothie for breakfast or a snack, and excellent for post-workout recovery.

INGREDIENTS

  • Peeled bananas
  • Soy or almond milk
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 2 tsp chopped hazelnuts

METHOD

  1. Blend the frozen banana with soya milk and honey until smooth.
  2. Pour into two large bamboo cups.
  3. Sprinkle the smoothies with the hazelnut crumbs.

Nuts are unquestionably among the most amazing foods in the world. Why? They contain easily digestible vegetable proteins, useful fats, essential amino-acids, and a good bunch of vitamins and minerals.

Hazelnut Health Benefits

Hazelnuts contain elements that are useful for our cognitive functions. Perhaps even more importantly, hazelnuts help people fight heart disease and reduce cholesterol.

Hazelnuts are particularly good for people who have diabetes and suffer from high cholesterol, since hazelnuts lower your cholesterol and contain manganese, which helps you fight diabetes.

Hazelnuts also includes rather much of the inflammation-reducing Vitamin E.
