This apple pie smoothie is incredible and is full of health benefits. It's just like eating apple pie for breakfast and is the perfect healthy breakfast or snack full of seasonal apples and scented with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg.
With vegan and gluten-free ingredients like apples, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg, this is a delicious recipe for autumn.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 apple cut into small pieces
- 1 cup almond milk
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
METHOD
- Combine all the ingredients in a blender.
- Blend thoroughly, pour into your coconut cup or bamboo cup.
- Sprinkle a few chia seeds on top.
Toppings are the best part of any smoothie bowl! To fit with the apple pie theme, we’ll add chopped apples, chia seeds and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
CHEF'S TIP
For a thick smoothie use frozen chopped apple instead of a fresh chopped apple. Apples have a high water content, which causes this recipe to be thinner than most smoothie bowls.
